Welcome to Yen Yen Restaurants! Yen Yen was first established in September of 1988 in Brooklyn, New York. Within three months of its opening, the restaurant was deemed, “The best Chinese restaurant in Brooklyn” by Sylvia Carter, a food critic for the New York Newsday. At the beginning of 1989, another review written by Ms. Carter, she declared Yen Yen as her #1 choice of favorite restaurants for the year of 1988. Sequentially, Yen Yen received numerous awards from the local community boards for stimulating the growth of the neighboring businesses. In May of 1991, Yen Yen was presented with the “Outstanding Small Business Operators in Brooklyn” award at the City Hall from the Brooklyn Borough President Howard Golden. On January 15, 1992, Yen Yen had successfully acquired an English restaurant in Cocoa Beach, Florida, called The Prince of Wales. In May, the restaurant then renovated and had its name changed to Yen Yen Chinese Restaurant.
